By introducing the S12x1 quick connector plug, ESCHA is consequently extending its product range in this field. Full compatibility with the M12 standards is a must in this case. For this reason, care was taken to ensure that the S12x1 plug and coupling can also be used with existing applications and the customer is not restricted to a certain system, thus meeting central customers’ requirement.

How does the S12x1 plug work?

First, the plug is put in position within the coupling. Then, the three-segment structured plug thread is spread by an axial move of the nut and locked onto the coupling thread and finally confirmed by a clear signal. In addition, high cohesion forces in locked condition provide for perfect safety. In order to further simplify the installation, the axial plug has a coding display on its body. Due to the fact that the plug thread is not out of metal, counter plastic threads are not highly affected.

As it is the case with the coupling, the tightness of the connection with threads not accurate to size can also be realized by a short re-turn of the nut on the plug. The S12x1 plug is therefore capable of compensating for thread tolerances. Additionally, a high shock- and vibration strength is guaranteed by the integrated shake-proof construction. With this technology, the engineers from Halver, Sauerland, have developed a connector plug which requires 85 percent shorter installation time compared to a standard M12 connector according to the MTM-method (Methodical Time Management). This will save customers not only time but also real cash.
